Machans and Pug Marks
Every year during the month of May, all Wild Life Sancturies and National Parks officials organise census operation to record, understand and analyse health of eco-system. This is the best time for census as most of the wild life is concentrated around few waterbodies likes lakes and waterholes. Machans are built around water holes. This vantage advantage location can be used by a volunteer / expert for making his observations. Volunteers and experts besides keeping a close eye from machal also studies all trails leading towards the water hole. Pug marks, animal scats, and physical sightings are recorded and studied to determine the exact population of Wild Life in the National Park. This is also the best period for those who are interested in spotting the bigger mammals.
