The place:

The trek to Vyaghreshwar is almost unknown and takes one to an ancient temple of Lord Shiva situated in a corner of Raigad district (near the town of Pen) in Konkan. The view from the temple is beautiful and one can even catch glimpses of the sea, if visibility permits. A huge waterfall flows near the temple in the monsoons. In other seasons, the tranquil surroundings of the temple bring peace to the mind. Mirgad & Ratnagad are the forts nearby with Pen being the closest town.

Base village: Pabal

Location: near Pen, Raigad district

Route to base village from Mumbai: Mumbai – Pen – Vadkhel - Pabal (100 km approx)

Approximate travelling time from Mumbai to base village: 2.5 hours

Camp contribution: Rs. 900 per head (Rs.100/- discount for members)

(Includes Travel by private transport, Standard Breakfast, Evening Tea / Biscuits, Tolls, Management charges)

Food: Packed lunch to be bought by all participants. Morning breakfast/refreshments & evening snacks/refreshments will be provided to all participants.

Who can come?: Anyone with basic fitness, love for nature and zeal to be part of a adventure team. Minimum age 10 years.

6:10 am – Kalanagar Bus Stop (Bandra – Western Express Highway), near end of Sky walk

6:10 am – Sion Lunch home; around 50 meters from Sion station

6:20 am – Chembur Opp to Akbar Allis Departmental Stores

6:45 am – Vashi (Junction of NH4 and Station Road)

Uran for sharing few moments with Flamingos and other migratory birds

Induction / Introduction during bus journey

9:00 am – Standard Breakfast on the way (Wadkhad Naka)

(South Indian Snacks and Tea/ Coffee)

9:45 am – Start of trek

We are expected to be back in Mumbai by 9pm (subject to traffic conditions).

What to bring:

·         Good rucksack

·         1 set of spare clothes

·         Any personal medications

·         1 cap

·         1 pair of good trekking shoes (no sandals, chappals will be allowed)
