The sport of white water river rafting calls for a triumph over the swift swirling river as it gushes past spectacular mountains. It is practiced mainly in the upper reaches where the water is wild and white as it froths and foams, crashing against narrow gorges, rocky outcrops and falls at deep gradients.
The KundalikaRiver which lays hardly 100 kms from Mumbai provides excellent opportunity for river rafting. The river is fed by waters released from Mulshi Dam and Bhira dam and provides 9 km rafting location with class 3 and class 4 rapids. These magical waters provide one fun-filled roller coaster rides.
What do the classes mean
Grade I: Small, easy waves; mainly flat water
Grade II:Mainly clear passages; some areas of difficulty
Grade III: Difficult passages; narrow in places and with high waves
Grade IV:Very difficult, narrow and requiring precise manoeuvring
Grade V:Extremely difficult. Very fast-flowing waters which can be manoeuvred only by experts
Grade VI: For all practical purposes, unmanageable- even suicidal

Rs. 1250/- (in bank) balance of Rs. 700/- to be paid in cash on the day of the event (Members Rs. 100/- discount in cash)
Imp: River rafting is a sport dependent on many factors like rains, dam gate opening time, etc. If the rafting instructors feel it is dangerous to raft on that given date & time we shall arrange for a trek as an alternative. Suggestions shall be taken from the group but the ultimate decision shall be taken by representatives of Nature Knights. Refund policies shall vary according to situation and shall be at the sole discretion of Nature Knights.

Checklist for preparation.
Attire
Track Pants or loose comfortable trousers; Preference is for trousers whose material is light and can stretch. Avoid heavy jeans.
Wear loose full sleeves shirt or t-shirt of material that can breathe, but does not retain liquid.
Shoes – trekking shoes or tough sports shoes. Carry Spare floaters, slippers, or light canvas shoes.
Don’t wear Shoes with high heals
Socks – carry spare socks
Bedding
Carry two bedsheets or a sleeping & a sleeping mat for bedding.
Backpack or Rucksack
Carry all your belongings in a backpack or rucksack with light items at the bottom and heavy stuff loaded around your shoulders level. If you have, compression straps in your bag use them to compress your luggage to make it well balanced.
Goodies
You may also carry goodies like camera; small - binoculars, magnifying glasses and pocket field guide to make most of the trip.

How to prepare your self for any adventure?
Fitness – Most important
Start walks 3 to 4 times per week; go for 45 minutes to 60 minutes brisk walk. If you can go for walks with your backpack or a smaller one nothing like it.
Do stretching exercise (stiff body can break down easily).
Built strength training (weights or GYM or at least do Surya Namaskar; Pushups; Squats and Stomach Crunches). 20 minutes 3 to 4 times per week is OK.
Eat good food (have 3 to 4 servings of vegetable or fruit salads per day).
Pranayam – Breathing exercise for developing stronger lungs.
If you have purchased a new shoe for trek, start wearing it at least 10 to 15 days in advance to get used to the new shoe.
